Our Plan

● Schedule your appointment at least two weeks before any special event. This allows for healing and correction of redness, swelling, or bruising.
● Avoid dental cleanings for two weeks prior and two weeks after treatment.
● Avoid dental procedures for four weeks before treatment.
● Avoid blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, vitamin E, garlic, or St. John’s Wort at least 3-7 days before the appointment. This will help reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.
● Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours before treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.
● Refrain from topical retinoids or exfoliating agents on the treatment area for 1-2 days.
● Notify your provider of any recent changes to medications, supplements, or new medical conditions.
● Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores, an antiviral may be prescribed.

● Review and sign consent forms.
● Your provider will discuss treatment areas, facial anatomy, and desired results, and then you and your provider will develop a personalized treatment plan.
● Different filler options will be discussed, and you and your provider will decide on the best filler for your desired outcome.
● If indicated, the treatment area will be numbed for maximum comfort.
● The treatment area will be thoroughly cleaned and marked for precise placement.
● Expert technique and fine needles will be used to minimize discomfort.

● Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treatment area unless the provider instructs.
● Redness, swelling, and bruising may be present and typically subside within 3-5 days.
● Bruising may present as red, purple, or blue discoloration. If skin becomes pale or dusky, contact your provider immediately.
● Acetaminophen should be used for any discomfort; avoid NSAIDs as they can increase bruising.
● If instructed by the provider, ice packs or cool compressors are helpful in treatment areas.
● Do only in 10-minute increments, with a cloth or barrier between the ice pack and skin.
● Avoid heavy pressure on the treatment area with an ice pack.
● No strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
● Avoid sun exposure, hot tubs, saunas, or extreme hot or cold for 72 hours.
● Cool compresses can reduce pain and swelling if instructed by the provider.
● Wait two weeks for other facial treatments (botox, laser, microneedling, massage, waxing).

Benefits of Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a quick, non-surgical option that can produce dramatic, natural-looking results. Here’s how they can enhance your appearance:

Faqs

What's the downtime like with dermal filler treatments?

Dermal filler is a quick procedure with minimal downtime. We suggest avoiding strenuous exercise, extreme heat, or cold for at least 24 hours after treatment.
Immediately! You will leave your appointment noticing a subtle enhancement. Swelling may occur for 48-72 hours, with full effects noticeable within a week.
The molecular structure determines longevity: lips typically last 6-12 months, while structural fillers in cheeks and chin can last 12-18 months. Factors like your metabolism, activity level, and sun exposure can impact your duration. Many clients find that regular maintenance treatments lead to needing less product over time as collagen stimulation improves overall skin quality.
Many areas can benefit from filler treatment. At DURM, we specialize in cheeks, lips, and chin to add natural volume and contour and perfectly balance your face.
They’re perfect companions with different mechanisms: Botox® relaxes dynamic wrinkles while fillers restore volume, providing comprehensive rejuvenation. Botox® works best for expression lines in the upper face (forehead, between brows, crow’s feet), while fillers excel at addressing static wrinkles and volume loss in the mid and lower face. Many clients benefit from combining both treatments for a harmonious, refreshed appearance.
